At Hunterdon Family Eye Care, your health and the health of our staff are of the utmost importance. To ensure your health and the health of our staff, we do follow usual universal precautions in our operatories and office. Additionally, every half hour to an hour we wipe down the waiting room and common spaces with disinfectant.
For the protection of all our patients and staff due the recent outbreak of coronavirus, we are requesting the following:
- If you have an illness or are exhibiting symptoms, we recommend you cancel and reschedule your appointment. Some illness and symptoms include:
- a cold or the flu
- Conjunctivitis or red eye symptoms
- fever or nausea
- severe headaches or body aches
- muscle or stomach pain, chest pain or difficulty breathing
- vomiting or diarrhea
- active tuberculosis (TB)
- mumps, measles, chickenpox
- other contagious disease
As of March 17 at 5:50PM, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended that all optometry practices close for routine care for the
next “several weeks”. Following these guidelines, we will be closed for routine examinations until at least April 1, or until further federal disease control guidance is available to us. However, we will have a skeleton staff here from 9-3 PM to answer phones, dispense and order contacts, and dispense glasses that have been ordered.
We continue to strictly adhere to hygiene and infection control protocols as we always have. We have reinforced staff training in basic
and advanced hygiene and confirmed our cleaning and disinfection techniques are consistent with CDC recommendations. PLEASE NOTE THE

-If you had direct contact with a person who is currently being quarantined for coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure IN THE LAST 14 DAYS,

-If you felt feverish, had a cough, or trouble breathing in the last 24 hours, **PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN AND CALL TO
RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT**"
